Cristóbal León (Santiago, Chile,1980)
Joaquín Cociña (Santiago, Chile,1980)

They are artists and filmmakers who live and work in Santiago, Chile. They have been working together since 2007. Independently of each other, they make drawings, animations, installations, as well as backgrounds and also write texts. His work often finds direct or indirect inspiration in children’s literature, using and restoring its narratives and visual aesthetics. In 2018 they released their first fiction feature film, La Casa Lobo.

Cristóbal León studied Design at the Universidad Católica de Chile, obtained a DAAD scholarship in 2007 and went to Berlin for a one-year program at the UdK in 2009. In 2011, León became a participating artist in ‘The Ateliers’ in Amsterdam.

Joaquín Cociña obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Universidad Católica de Chile. He participated in several exhibitions in Chile and abroad, and also worked as a writer, illustrator, and backdrop designer for the theater.

In many projects, León and Cociña work together with the filmmaker Nilles Atallah (California, 1978), sharing roles in the production and post-production of their film animations. All three act as directors, screenwriters, cartoonists, photographers, and editors. By combining drawing, sculpture and stop-motion techniques, they have created a corpus of art pieces that contribute their own language to cinematographic expression and thought.
